The Ukrainian will be the first woman to become the theatre's chief conductor in Italy. The theatre has been looking for a chief conductor and chief artistic director for 3 years.
Once again, I have the honour and responsibility to become the first woman in Italy to be invited to become the musical director of one of the most important state theatres - a country where classical music has an extraordinary history that is felt in every corner and is an integral part of national culture.
Oksana Lyniv
In March 2020, Oksana Liniv made her debut on the stage of the Bologna Municipal Theatre (Teatro Comunale di Bologna) without spectators, during quarantine. Immediately after that, the Ukrainian conductor was offered a contract.
Italy is not only the cradle of the world's opera - this country has given humanity an era and in particular, the Renaissance, where people have changed their views on values ââand worldview in general.
