The Russian Federation produces more than 400 long-range drones every day.
According to a Facebook post by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, this was discussed during a meeting with commanders of leading unmanned systems units of the Defense Forces.
“Thanks to our military intelligence, we know that the enemy has no less ambitious plans. The Russians have followed our path and created separate Unmanned Systems Forces, which already number about 80,000 personnel. At the second stage, in 2026, they plan to double this number to 165,500. By 2030, the force is expected to grow to nearly 210,000,” Syrskyi said.
It is also known that Russia’s state defense order for the production of long-range drones has been fulfilled at 106% over the year, and the military-industrial complex of the aggressor state produces more than 400 such UAVs daily.
“We clearly understand what we will have to face in the near future and what exactly needs to be done to neutralize the enemy on the battlefield of unmanned systems. In modern warfare, this is a top priority. To this end, among other tasks, I have ordered the formation of specialized units designed to effectively detect and destroy the enemy’s high-tech drone units, command posts, and crews of unmanned aerial systems,” Syrskyi noted.

He emphasized that whoever has superiority in both the quantity and quality of unmanned systems preserves more of their own soldiers and destroys the Russian troops more effectively. The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to maintain an advantage in the number of FPV drone deployments.
“In December, our unmanned aerial systems units carried out about 339,000 missions, while ground robotic systems conducted nearly 2,100 missions. The total number of targets hit or destroyed by Defense Forces drones increased by 31%, and the number of enemy personnel hit rose by more than a quarter,” Syrskyi stressed.
According to him, during the meeting, the most important part of the joint work was the presentations by commanders of leading unmanned systems units, who shared their experience in the effective use of UAVs and ground robotic systems, as well as their advanced technical developments.
“The enemy has already felt their explosive power. We are developing and scaling up,” Syrskyi added.
In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have launched a technical support system for unmanned systems, as well as an information support system for manufacturers.
