During her working visit to Italy, Ukraine’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Svitlana Hrynchuk, had the opportunity to speak with the Vice President of Assolombarda, Alvise Biffi, to discuss attracting "green" investments to Ukraine.

"According to him, Assolombarda unites over 7,000 companies across various sectors, including chemical production, energy, aerospace, and services. Each of them strives to invest in ‘green’ solutions. We focused on Italian practices of industrial green transition, support programs, and exchanged views on overcoming obstacles in this process. Italy is still undergoing this transition and faces unique challenges in its transformation," said Svitlana Hrynchuk.

During a meeting with Italian entrepreneurs, Svitlana Hrynchuk discussed the implementation of energy-efficient solutions in production and the development of geothermal energy. Business representatives assured that Ukraine is of interest to Italian manufacturers. The key factor in the partnership between the two countries is transparent and clear rules for investors.

With business leaders implementing environmental solutions in construction, the Minister discussed Ukraine’s investment potential. Svitlana Hrynchuk spoke about environmental reforms and recent legislative changes that facilitate investors’ entry into the Ukrainian market.

"Our partners are ready to share their experience, as this area is also relevant for our country on its path to the EU. We agreed to continue our cooperation in this direction so that by the URC-2025 Conference, we can present the first joint developments," the Minister stated.

On the sidelines of the conference, Svitlana Hrynchuk had a conversation with a company that already collaborates with Ukrainian businesses. The Minister noted that this company has interesting solutions for water reuse and is actively working with Ukraine. It expressed readiness to deepen cooperation in the water sector, which is currently one of the government’s priorities. Their expertise could be extremely valuable, as safe and reusable water solutions could help Ukrainian farmers mitigate water shortages while reducing strain on increasingly scarce water resources, allowing agriculture to continue. Such programs have already been successfully implemented in several EU member states.

"Italy is a reliable partner for Ukraine. This country has provided refuge to about 180,000 Ukrainians. Its government supports us in developing principles for green recovery, defense, renewable energy, humanitarian demining, and more. As stated yesterday by Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, around 180 Italian companies and industrial associations have expressed willingness to participate in Ukraine’s reconstruction. I hope Ukraine will be able to attract even more companies to contribute to our country’s recovery. I thank my counterparts for a meaningful discussion and their initiative. We are preparing to represent Ukraine with dignity at URC-2025 in Rome," the Minister emphasized.
