Russia attacked Ukraine with 109 UAVs and 5 missiles

During the night of May 31 (starting from 7:30 p.m. on May 30), the Russian forces launched an attack using 114 aerial assault assets:

  • 107 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and various types of decoy drones from the directions of Millerovo, Shatalovo, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), as well as Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea);
  • 2 strike UAVs (type not identified) from Belgorod region (Russia);
  • 2 S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles from Kursk region (Russia);
  • 3 Kh-59/69 air-to-surface guided missiles from the airspace over Belgorod region (Russia).

The main directions of the airstrike were the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Donetsk regions.

The aerial assault was countered by the Ukrainian Defense Forces using aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and drone units, as well as mobile fire teams.

As of 08:30, air defense forces had neutralized 69  Shahed-type UAVs (and other types of drones), as well as 3 Kh-59/69 guided missiles over the east, south, north, and central regions of the country. Of these, 42 were shot down by direct fire, and 30 were suppressed or lost through electronic warfare.

Russian airstrikes hit 13 locations.
