Russian strikes hit Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, Donetsk, Kyiv

On November 28, multiple regions of Ukraine came under attack by Russian forces, resulting in civilian casualties, injuries, and significant damage to residential and critical infrastructure. Local authorities provided updates on the scale of the assaults.

Kharkiv Region

In Kharkiv and five surrounding settlements, Russian strikes killed two civilians and injured two others, according to Oleg Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

“In the village of Shestakove, a 33-year-old man was killed, and a 52-year-old woman and a 61-year-old woman were injured. In the village of Karaichne, a 49-year-old man was killed,” Synegubov reported.

The attackers used a mix of weapons, including 10  guided bombs, two FPV drones, and 19 UAVs of various types. The strikes caused damage to two apartment buildings and an administrative building in Kharkiv, while a car, an apartment building in Kivsharivka, eight private houses and five outbuildings in Shestakove, and nine private homes and a cultural center in Kyrylivka were also damaged.

Sumy Region

Nearly 40 shellings were recorded across 18 settlements in Sumy region, leaving a 60-year-old energy worker seriously injured, reported Oleg Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

“Civil infrastructure was damaged in several communities, including Sumy, Khotin, Krolevets, Druzhba, Mykolaivka, Bilopillia, Verkhniosyrovatka, Esman, Shalyhyn, and Seredyno-Buda,” Hryhorov stated.

19 people were evacuated from affected areas.

Kherson Region
Russian attacks in Kherson killed two civilians and injured eight others, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the regional military administration.

“Four apartment buildings and four private houses were damaged, and private vehicles were destroyed,” Prokudin said.

Multiple communities, including Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Bilozerka, Veletenske, and the city of Kherson, were targeted under drone terror, airstrikes, and artillery shelling.

Donetsk Region

In Donetsk, four people were injured—three in Oleksandrivka and one in Bylbasivka, reported Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, 3,742 residents have been killed and 8,496 injured, excluding casualties in Volnovakha and Mariupol.

Dnipropetrovsk Region

In the Troitske community of Pavlohrad district, an 83-year-old woman was injured in a Russian drone attack. Several houses, a gas pipeline, and a power line were damaged. The Dnipro district also saw damage to an infrastructure facility. Russian forces shelled Nikopol district as well, impacting the Myrivska community, according to Vladyslav Haivanenko, acting head of the regional administration.

Kyiv Region

Fastiv and other parts of Kyiv region experienced power outages following a Russian strike. Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the regional administration, reported damage to six apartment buildings in Brovary district, two private houses and a production facility in Obukhiv district, and additional homes in Vyshhorod and Bucha districts. Fifty-two residents, including three children, were evacuated from a damaged building, and a local “point of resilience” was set up to provide heating and assistance. Critical infrastructure has switched to backup power.
