TAF Industries has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swedish engineering company RECAS, marking the start of broader cooperation in defence-related technologies and production.
The agreement outlines several potential areas of collaboration, including continued work under the existing “Build with Ukraine” initiative, which focuses on joint manufacturing in Sweden through a planned joint venture. In parallel, the companies are also considering the launch of a joint project in Ukraine.
According to the partners, one of the objectives of the cooperation would be to support the development of RECAS’s unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) platform and facilitate its potential integration into Ukraine’s Security and Defence Forces. The planned cooperation would also aim to provide industrial and technical infrastructure needed for further development and scaling of the system.
RECAS is an engineering firm specializing in industrial automation, production systems, modular manufacturing solutions, and rapid deployment manufacturing capabilities. The company has experience working with Sweden’s defence sector on modular systems and specialized vehicle development.
One of its key developments is the RUFUS wheeled UGV platform, designed with scalability and industrial production in mind, with the goal of enabling higher-volume manufacturing and reduced unit costs compared to conventional defence production approaches.
TAF Industries stated that it will contribute operational experience, production expertise, and scaling capabilities to support further development of the platform.
“Ukraine is strong, and even stronger with partners. Our goal is to help integrate European technologies into the Ukrainian defence tech ecosystem, enabling them to contribute directly to Ukraine’s defence while strengthening cooperation between our countries through shared experience and joint development,” said Volodymyr Zinovskyi, CEO of TAF Industries.
The companies said the agreement is intended to strengthen industrial cooperation between Ukraine and Sweden and explore pathways for joint defence technology development and manufacturing.
