The Security Service of Ukraine has neutralized an FSB spy network that was operating on behalf of the Russian Federation, spying in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv regions. The perpetrators were coordinating Russian missile strikes on locations of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

As a result of the special operation, three Russian agents were arrested for preparing coordinates for missile strikes on Ukrainian targets.

The enemy's priority targets included military airfields, backup command posts, and training centers for Ukrainian defenders, as well as factories repairing armored vehicles and UAVs.

To carry out the enemy's mission, the FSB remotely recruited local unemployed individuals, aged 23, 34, and 40, who were seeking "quick earnings" via Telegram channels.

All of them were spread across the three regions of Ukraine but had a common Russian handler — a staff member of the FSB's Black Sea Fleet division. His identity has been established by SBU cyber specialists.

One of the agents was sent by the Russian intelligence service to Lviv. To gather intelligence, the traitor worked as a dispatcher at a local construction firm, which was carrying out military contracts.

Another suspect, a resident of Kyiv region, traveled across the area, attempting to identify the main and operational airfields used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces' combat aviation.

A third traitor, a resident of Kharkiv, tracked locations of the highest concentrations of personnel and military equipment of the Defense Forces in a frontline city.

Additionally, he discreetly asked his acquaintances about local enterprises that were involved in restoring the combat capabilities of Ukrainian military equipment.

The SSU identified all three agents in time, documented their crimes, and arrested them "in the act" as each was conducting reconnaissance near potential targets.

The detainees were found with mobile phones containing anonymous chats in messaging apps, which they used to contact the FSB.

The criminals are currently in custody. They face life imprisonment with asset forfeiture.
