Ukrainian forces continue their offensive operation in Russia's Kursk region. In total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have taken control of 82 settlements.
This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, during a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff.
"Since the beginning of the operation in the Kursk region, our forces have advanced 35 kilometers, taking control of 1,150 square kilometers of territory and 82 settlements," said Syrskyi.
According to him, the overall situation in the Russian region is under control.
The Commander-in-Chief also noted that, apart from the city of Sudzha, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have completed the "search and destruction" of the enemy in three more settlements.
President Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke about the successes of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region during his daily address.
"The Commander-in-Chief gave a separate report on the operation in the Kursk region. There has been further advancement. Our exchange fund has also been replenished. Additionally, General Syrskyi reported on the completion of the liberation of the city of Sudzha from Russian troops. A Ukrainian military commandant's office is now being established there. Several other settlements have also been liberated. In total, more than 80," he said.
