On the night of August 11, Ukraine carried out drone strikes on several regions of Russia, including Moscow. Among the targets was the territory of “two industrial zones” in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The raids targeted industrial enterprises (which were not named).
“In the course of repelling the attack in the Arzamas district, unfortunately, casualties and damage could not be avoided. One employee died on the spot, and two injured were hospitalized,” reported the regional head, adding that the enterprise itself did not sustain damage.
According to the Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+, the strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the PJSC Arzamas Instrument-Building Plant named after P.I. Plandina (AIPZ), which is under sanctions by the U.S., EU, Ukraine, and New Zealand. The plant is considered a leading enterprise of Russia’s defense-industrial complex and produces instruments for the aviation and space sectors as part of state defense orders. The factory, part of the PJSC Corporation Tactical Missile Armament, develops and manufactures gyroscopic equipment, control systems, onboard electronic computing machines, steering drives, and more.
In Tula, during a Ukrainian drone attack on "one of the civilian enterprises" on the evening of August 10, two people were killed and three others were injured.
According to reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense, from 8:00 p.m. on August 10 until the morning of August 11, Russian electronic warfare systems shot down and intercepted 66 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory. Of these, 12 were in the Tula region and two in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The ministry also reported the destruction of three drones in the Moscow region. Similar information was provided by Moscow’s mayor, Sergey Sobyanin.
