The leadership and personnel of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training, and Education Centre (JATEC) participated in the Framework Operational Development Forces (OFDeF) conference.
During the week, JATEC representatives worked in working groups on training, air defense, logistics, support, and other domains, focusing on synchronizing joint efforts and planning within coalition capabilities.
Brigadier General Wojciech Ozga, commander of JATEC, highlighted at the closing briefing for over 70 generals and senior officers the key role of training based on lessons learned directly on the battlefield.
“All the experience shared with us by the Armed Forces of Ukraine comes at a very high cost. Our duty at JATEC is to capture these lessons and incorporate them into NATO doctrine. OFDeF provides a powerful channel to integrate battlefield experience into multinational planning, complementing our broader mission to transform combat experience into strategic advantage across the Alliance,” Brig. Gen. Ozga emphasized.
The conference also included Colonel Valeriy Vyshnivskyi, Ukraine’s Senior National Representative to JATEC and Director of Program Implementation at the NATO-Ukraine Joint Centre. He noted that JATEC and NSATU are developing close cooperation, with each organization having a unique role: NSATU addresses urgent battlefield needs and challenges, while JATEC focuses on capability building and achieving strategic advantage in innovation, education, and analysis.
Participants in OFDeF also included representatives from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Assistance Group-Ukraine (SAG-U), NSATU, the European Union Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM), NATO agencies, and partner countries.
Since the first OFDeF conference a year ago, the forum has become a key platform for coordinating international training, equipment, and logistical planning to help Ukraine continue its fight, negotiate from a position of strength, and lay the foundations for lasting peace.
The fourth OFDeF conference in Poland demonstrated the commitment of Alliance members and partner countries to Ukraine’s defense.
