The HART 5100 engineering remote demining system, developed in Kharkiv, has successfully passed testing and state certification and is now entering serial production, according to Oleg Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
“By the end of the year, it is planned to produce 16 such machines,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Synehubov, the HART 5100 is already being used in mined territories. It neutralizes various types of mines and other explosive devices by detonating them and destroying them with the hammers of a chain unit or a milling cutter at a depth of up to 300 millimeters.
“Thanks to thorough soil processing, the HART 5100 provides high efficiency and safety. The machine is capable of clearing more than 2 hectares per day. It is remotely controlled from a distance of up to 600 meters,” Synehubov emphasized.
He added that development of the system began in 2023 with a working group created by the Kharkiv OVA to design the first Ukrainian demining machine. The project was implemented by the Kharkiv-based company XTI Engineering.
Synehubov also reminded that Kharkiv region is one of the most heavily mined in Ukraine: 36% of its territory was under Russian occupation, and considering the active combat zones, potentially about 60% of the region is mined.
