In 2023, money transfers in Ukraine amounted to 728 billion UAH, which is twice as much as in 2021. The National Bank released this statistic, revealing that the average amount of a domestic transfer was 862 UAH.
The leader in terms of transfer volume within the country was "NovaPay," accounting for 32% of all domestic transfers. Recently, the company launched the sale of its own bonds in their application.
Overall, last year, there were 35 payment systems operating in Ukraine, with 26 created by residents and nine by non-residents (four systems from the USA, three from the UK, and one each from Georgia and Canada).
Regarding incoming transfers to Ukraine, $2.6 billion was sent over the year, which is 17% less than in 2021. The average amount of such cross-border transfers was $255.
The majority of money transfers came from the USA (18%), Israel (17%), Italy (15%), Germany (9%), and Ireland (5%). The leading payment systems by volume were:
- Western Union (USA resident) – 43.2% of all transfers;
- MoneyGram (USA resident) – 21.7% of all transfers;
- PrivatMoney (PJSC CB "PrivatBank") – 17.9% of all transfers.
