In Ukraine, the National Corpus of the Crimean Tatar Language (NCCTL) will be created in the format of an online platform. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

The platform will function as an open library of educational and scientific materials on the Crimean Tatar language.

"The online platform is designed to become a powerful tool for students, scientists, researchers, practicing teachers, and other interested parties who want to learn the Crimean Tatar language," the site reports.

The organized corpus will contain Crimean Tatar texts of various genres with a wide range of word searches by multiple parameters. In particular, the site will be filled with scientific articles, monographs, artistic, biographical, and other literature, and newspaper journalism.

In the long term, the corpus should reach more than 1 million word usages.

"UNESCO includes Crimean Tatar in the list of languages under serious threat. We must work to preserve the language, culture, and identity of the indigenous people of Ukraine, the Crimean Tatars," said Verkhovna Rada deputy Rustem Umyerov.

The project will be created within the framework of implementing the Crimean Tatar Language Development Strategy for 2022-2032. It will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Reintegration, Kyiv National University named after T. Shevchenko, Tavri National University named after V.I. Vernadsky, by the youth public organization QIRI'M YOUNG with the support of the program "Electronic governance for government accountability and community participation (EGAP)" implemented by the "Eastern Europe" foundation.
