The Netherlands has allocated 9 million euros to support Ukraine's capacity to investigate and hold accountable for international crimes.
The Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hanke Bruins Slot, made this announcement in Kyiv during a joint press conference with her Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba.
"We have offered opportunities and training for the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office and the judicial system. The Dutch government has allocated 9 million euros for these purposes in 2024," she said.
According to Bruins Slot, the Netherlands has committed to being a leading country in restoring justice within Ukraine's "peace formula" and is already accepting and supporting Ukraine's Register of Losses and the International Center for the Prosecution of Aggression against Ukraine.
"This center is the first step towards the creation of a special tribunal, which we have also proposed to be located in The Hague," added Hanke Bruins Slot.
It's worth noting that the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, who has been in office since September, arrived in Ukraine on her first bilateral visit on Tuesday and met with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
