President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel has allowed several dozen citizens to join the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with nearly 200 requests submitted by Czechs for permission.
This was reported by Český rozhlas.
According to the president’s spokesperson, Filip Platoš, over 180 Czechs have asked Pavel for authorization to join the Ukrainian army.
Czech law prohibits citizens from participating in foreign military or paramilitary formations without the president's permission. However, for those who have already enlisted, there is an option to obtain permission retroactively.
Currently, the publication reports that President Pavel has granted permission to 60 citizens to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, there is no information yet on how many requests were denied.
