Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone talks. During the conversation, Modi called on the head of the Kremlin "for dialogue and diplomacy."
In his opinion, this is the only way to end the war in Ukraine. This was reported by the Indian newspaper The Indian Express.
"During the conversation with Putin, Prime Minister Modi once again repeated his call for dialogue and diplomacy as the only way to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine," the newspaper writes.
It is also noted that since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the head of the Indian government has been in regular contact with Putin, "seeking dialogue and peace negotiations", but has not publicly condemned the war.
At the same time, India called for an international investigation into the crimes in Bucha and also expressed concern about nuclear threats from the Kremlin.
