Ukrainian naval military personnel have participated in the international Joint Warrior exercises, which are taking place in the waters of the United Kingdom.

This week, Ukrainian sailors began practical actions and maneuvers as part of the "Joint Warrior -23-II" exercises, which are conducted within the territorial waters of the United Kingdom.
From the Ukrainian Navy, a tactical group for mine countermeasures and the naval mine countermeasure ships "Cherkasy" and "Chernihiv" were involved.
It's worth noting that Ukrainian ships continue to operate under the flag of the United Kingdom, even though they bear the symbolism of the Ukrainian Navy.
The absence of the Ukrainian flag on the vessels may be explained by the fact that they are still technically part of the British fleet, even though they have been transferred to Ukraine. This could be due to the ships being based in British ports and, as a result, operationally subordinated to the local admiralty.
This is not the first such occurrence in world history. Similarly, in November 1939, the Polish fleet, unable to return to its own ports due to the occupation of the country, was forced to relocate to the United Kingdom.
At that time, according to the Anglo-Polish Naval Agreement, the Polish naval units were commanded by Polish officers, the ships were crewed by Polish crews in Polish uniforms and ranks, and they were subject to Polish regulations. However, they were also subject to operational control by the British Admiralty. The ships sailed under the national flags of both the Polish fleet and the United Kingdom.
