Ukrainian startup Swarmer, which specializes in developing drone swarm technology, has received a $500,000 investment from a new syndicate launched by investor Oleksandr Soroka’s Oppenheimer Acceleration Fund.

According to DOU, this marks the first deal for the Oppenheimer Syndicate, created under the Oppenheimer Acceleration Fund — part of the international Network VC Group founded by Soroka.

“Our most notable portfolio companies right now are Swarmer and Bavovna. They’re among the leaders, and here’s why: the company already has American and European contracts, which is critically important. The US is the largest market, and access to it opens up a completely new level of opportunities,” Soroka said earlier.

He added that the Network VC fund, which frequently invests in Ukrainian defense tech startups, now has about 100 companies in its portfolio.

In September, Soroka announced an investment in another Ukrainian firm, Scopa Industries, which developed an engine capable of accelerating UAVs to speeds exceeding 500 km/h.

Earlier this autumn, Swarmer raised $15 million in its first major investment round — the largest funding deal for a Ukrainian miltech startup since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
