The Estonian-Ukrainian Defense Forum in Kyiv brought together around 30 Estonian companies, ready to deepen cooperation with partners to strengthen the defense capabilities of both countries.
This was reported by the Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin.
"Representatives of about 30 Estonian companies, as well as the governments of Estonia and Ukraine, gathered to discuss the development of defense cooperation between the governments and enterprises of Ukraine and Estonia. The agenda included the needs and opportunities of the industry, experience in overcoming wartime challenges, and promising directions for cooperation," the statement reads.
According to Smetanin, the forum became a platform for communication between business representatives and the governments of both countries, discussing deepening cooperation between companies to strengthen the defense capabilities of Ukraine and Estonia.
The head of the Ministry of Strategic Industries thanked Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur for supporting cooperation at the government level. Smetanin also highlighted the country’s assistance of over 100 million euros in 2024 and the decision to allocate at least 0.3% of GDP annually from 2024 to 2027 to support Ukraine.
