The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and the Swedish Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing have signed a declaration of intent, outlining further cooperation in the digitalization and inclusion of the railway sector.
This was reported by Serhiy Derkach, Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
“During the visit to the Transport Administration, we signed a declaration of intent between the Ministry for Communities and the Swedish Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing regarding cooperation in the railway sector. The focus is on digitalization, inclusion, and attracting new professionals to the field,” the post reads.

During the working visit, the deputy minister also met with Swedish Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Andreas Carlson to discuss the restoration of Ukraine’s transport infrastructure, retraining of specialists, and the development of sustainable transport solutions.
Additionally, the Ukrainian delegation visited Sweden’s National Knowledge Center on Mobility at Lund University, a partner in a joint program for upskilling Ukrainian specialists. Discussions focused on new training formats, research, and data-driven transport policy development.
Meetings were also held with top management of Volvo and Scania. Collaborative work was proposed on developing training centers, retraining programs, and workforce preparation for Ukraine’s transport sector.
