Ukraine has successfully brought back a mother with four children and a teenager from the occupied territories by Russia.
This was announced by the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
"Five children have escaped the horrors of occupation and can now live freely and safely again. We managed to return a mother with four children, aged between 7 and 12 years old. This large family struggled to leave on their own. But when proper conditions were created for them, the family immediately agreed," he said.
Additionally, a 17-year-old boy was also successfully returned.
"The boy refused to receive a Russian passport, so he had to hide from the so-called occupying authorities," the head of the regional administration reported.
Overall, since the beginning of 2024, 35 children from the Kherson region have been brought back to the territories under Ukraine's control.
