A meeting took place in Kyiv between Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko and a Polish delegation led by Krzysztof Paszyk, Poland’s Minister of Development and Technology. The parties discussed deepening economic cooperation, steps to attract investment into the Ukrainian economy, and the involvement of Polish businesses in Ukraine's reconstruction projects.
Also present were Ukraine’s Deputy Ministers of Economy Andrii Teliupa, Tetiana Berezhna, and Oleksandr Tsybort, as well as Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk.
The main topic of the meeting was the specific investment opportunities currently available in Ukraine and how to engage Polish businesses in reconstruction efforts.
"Today, over 3,000 Polish companies are participating in Ukraine’s reconstruction, and every tenth new business registered in Poland in 2024 was founded by Ukrainian citizens. This reflects strong economic ties. However, the potential for deeper cooperation remains immense. Ukraine is interested in increasing the involvement of private Polish businesses in partnerships with Ukrainian manufacturers and in attracting Polish investment to our economy," Svyrydenko emphasized.
The parties also discussed practical aspects of attracting investment within the framework of the Ukraine Investment Framework (UIF) — the EU’s key tool for supporting reconstruction projects in Ukraine. The Ukrainian side highlighted the UIF’s effectiveness as a clear and accessible instrument that enables the rapid launch of real projects on the ground, mobilizing international resources for business development.
The Polish delegation was briefed on current conditions and opportunities for cooperation in priority sectors where Ukraine is focusing its development efforts — particularly in energy and industry.
Given the existing support provided by Poland’s BGK (Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego) to Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Ukraine invited Poland to join the SME Alliance and to make an official announcement at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 (URC-2025).
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to organize a series of dedicated follow-up events during which Polish businesses will be introduced to investment opportunities in key sectors, as well as to state support programs currently in place in Ukraine.
