When considering issues of further military support to Ukraine, Lithuania will consult with NATO allies.
All 50 M113 armored personnel carriers donated by Lithuania have already arrived in Ukraine.
According to Delfi, Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas told reporters today following a meeting of the State Defense Council.
"As for the military support of Ukraine, Lithuania has supported it and will continue to support it. Let me remind you that literally three days ago, our armored vehicles, which we sent, reached Ukraine, and now 50 M113 armored personnel carriers have been transferred," Anusauskas said.
According to him, at the council meeting, the issue of possible military support for Ukraine was discussed, the situation in the region was discussed - mobilization, and requests for asylum by Russian citizens are possible.
Anusauskas also stressed that the country will consult with NATO allies when considering issues of further military support to Ukraine.
The Minister noted that Lithuania is considering further possible support for Ukraine, in consultation with NATO partners, since the country also needs to fulfill its obligations to the Alliance to ensure the safety of military personnel stationed in Lithuania.
