Cyber experts from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine launched an attack on Russian internet providers in temporarily occupied Crimea.

Sources within the Directorate and Defense Forces informed Suspilne about this development.

Local authorities warned the peninsula's residents about potential internet access issues.

Several Russian internet providers reportedly experienced cyberattacks. The so-called administration of internal policy, information, and communications of the occupiers stated that the profiles of DDoS attacks are constantly changing, and Russian provider specialists are taking measures to counteract interference.

"It seems Russian cyber experts need to remember about import substitution, switch to their CheburNet instead of the World Wide Web, and establish a purely Russian firewall to isolate themselves from the free world. Only then do they stand a chance of protecting themselves from our attacks," said Ukrainian intelligence.

The Directorate emphasized that systematic cyberattacks have recently targeted Russian online services, servers, and network infrastructure.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian cyber specialists have conducted over 50 significant cyber operations against Russia. Typically, this involves 3-4 cyber operations per month, depending on the results of target search and reconnaissance.
