On the night of December 24, Ukrainian drones carried out a large-scale attack on Russian regions, striking the Tula region. According to Tula Governor Dmitry Milyaev, the attack caused a fire “on the premises of one of the region’s enterprises.” He assured that no one was injured.
Ukrainian monitoring channels report that the strike hit the Yefremov Synthetic Rubber Plant in Tula—the largest producer in Russia of low-molecular (liquid) synthetic rubbers. The fire at the plant was confirmed by NASA FIRMS satellites, according to Exilenova+.

The Yefremov Synthetic Rubber Plant is a major producer of synthetic polymers. Its products, including synthetic rubber and polyisobutylene, are used not only in various industrial sectors but also in defense-related manufacturing. This includes producing tires for military trucks, armored personnel carriers, and aviation equipment. The polyisobutylene additives produced at the plant are key components for creating specialized fuels, lubricants, and hydraulic fluids that power tank engines, infantry fighting vehicles, and artillery tractors.
