Ukrainian metallurgists increased steel production by almost a third

Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises increased steel production by 31.2% compared to the same period in 2023.

According to the UkrMetProm association's data, from January to May 2024, 3.14 million tons of steel were produced, which is 31.2% higher compared to January-May 2023, pig iron - 2.84 million tons (+20.8%), rolled products - 2.57 million tons (+29.5%). In particular, in May, steel production volumes increased by 3.2% compared to April - up to 737.6 thousand tons; pig iron - by 9.4%, to 653.1 thousand tons; rolled products - by 1.8%, to 594.9 thousand tons.

As reported, all Ukrainian metallurgical industry enterprises included in their plans for 2024 growth within the range of 10-15%.
