Argentina can contribute to the unity of Latin America around Ukraine and play a leading role in implementing the Ukrainian Peace Formula. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with representatives of Latin American media in Buenos Aires.

"We are interested in Argentina playing one of the key roles in the Peace Formula as a highly desirable representative of Latin America. We need support from all continents. Here we see a great country with this desire and capabilities," he said.

"Secondly, I am very interested in uniting Latin America around Ukraine. For us, this is unity around the truth. I am interested in a summit Ukraine - Latin America. And here I would like Javier Milei to help us activate and organize such a platform," added Volodymyr Zelensky.

The head of state noted that it takes time for specific agreements, allowing teams from both countries to work on all issues. However, he emphasized that during the communication on the occasion of the inauguration with the President of Argentina, Javier Milei, he received a positive signal regarding the topics Ukraine is interested in.

"We are strong today in the military, security, digitization. And I said that we are ready to cooperate in this direction, share experience, take yours. We are absolutely open to this because security issues today are number one," stated Volodymyr Zelensky.

Furthermore, in his opinion, Ukraine and Argentina can collaborate in other areas, particularly in the energy sector, to significantly increase trade between the two countries.

The President noted that directly or indirectly, Russia is always connected to the conflicts that erupt in various parts of the world today, making security issues crucial, especially for Latin American countries.

"Here, we need to be on the same side. We all want peace and security to prevail," stated Volodymyr Zelensky.

Responding to the question of why, among Latin American countries, he chose Argentina for his first visit, the head of state mentioned that it was influenced by the invitation to the inauguration of President Javier Milei and his position on Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

"His position is very clear in condemning Russian aggression and supporting Ukraine. It's unambiguous, without any unnecessary content. Just a very specific position. So, undoubtedly, I wanted to thank him on behalf of us and discuss the Formula of Peace and other points where we can cooperate," said Volodymyr Zelensky.

He noted that Argentina is one of the largest countries in the region, influencing Latin America as a whole: it is seen as a leader.

"I see how the people of Argentina support the people of Ukraine today. And we very much hope that more countries in Latin America will join us in the future. You are important to us," said the President of Ukraine.
