The spokesperson for the United Press Center of the North Direction Defense Forces, Colonel Yuriy Povkh, provided information on the situation on the northern front during a live broadcast of the 'Yedyni Novyny' telethon.
"There have been no significant changes in the situation on the Volyn and Polissya fronts. Russia maintains a small contingent at its bases, and Belarusian armed forces units carry out tasks to cover the border in the border area. Unfortunately, the situation is not calm and peaceful on the Siversky and Slobozhansky fronts. The enemy continues to shell border villages and towns. Typically, we record up to ten shelling incidents per day in this section of the border," the officer stated.
Responding to a question from the host about Russian occupiers on the territory of Belarus, the officer explained that currently, there is Russian personnel stationed there, including aerodrome personnel and communication hub personnel. There was also a small Russian contingent that recently participated in exercises on Belarusian territory, but these exercises have now been concluded. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces, located along the border with Belarus, have complete control of the situation and monitor the activity of enemy units.
