President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni.

The parties discussed the outcomes of the conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump and other European leaders.

The President of Ukraine and the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy coordinated their positions and agreed to remain in contact regarding next steps. Giorgia Meloni reaffirmed her support for all efforts aimed at achieving a genuine peace.

The leaders also discussed possible platforms for engaging in dialogue with the Russian side. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the need for a ceasefire in order to save lives. He stated that Ukraine is ready for honest diplomacy, and that it is essential to ensure that Russia is genuinely prepared to end the war.

Also Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz. The Head of State thanked the Chancellor for his strong and constructive position on supporting Ukraine.

The President of Ukraine and the Chancellor of Germany coordinated their next contacts and joint steps. It is crucial to maintain unity among all partners and to seek solutions that can truly bring this war to an end with a just peace.

They also spoke about Ukraine’s recovery after the war. The Head of State noted the need to develop a clear plan now that will help bring genuine peace closer today and support Ukraine’s future.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also held a phone conversation with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

The Head of State thanked Ursula von der Leyen and the entire European Union for the 17th package of sanctions against Russia.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the strict restrictions on the Russian tanker fleet, which serves to finance killings, as well as on all the schemes Russia uses to build up its military industry, a step in the right direction.

Increased pressure on Russia must motivate Moscow to move toward a genuine peace.

The President of Ukraine and the President of the European Commission discussed the preparations for the EU’s 18th sanctions package, which will target Russian oil, energy trade infrastructure, banks, and financial schemes.

The Head of State expressed his gratitude for advocating the strengthening of sanctions and for adopting the strong decisions.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ursula von der Leyen also discussed in detail yesterday’s conversation with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the joint diplomatic work with partners aimed at establishing a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. The President underscored that Europe must be involved in this process.
