Germany’s Rheinmetall has delivered another advanced mobile field hospital to Ukraine, strengthening the country's frontline medical capabilities. The Role 2-type mobile rescue station, built at Rheinmetall’s Mobile Systeme GmbH facility in Meckenbeuren, marks the fourth such system provided to Ukrainian forces.
Ukrainian service members underwent specialized training at the site, learning how to operate both the infrastructure and the medical systems inside. The training covered key medical devices such as ventilators, X-ray equipment, monitors, and surgical tools. Personnel were also instructed on system setup, emergency procedures, and effective teamwork in high-pressure environments.
The mobile hospital consists of three truck-trailers, each carrying two container modules with expandable sections. When deployed, the system forms a fully operational medical unit that includes triage, emergency care, radiology, surgical, and intensive care zones. Its design allows for rapid deployment and setup in challenging conditions—an essential feature for wartime medical operations.
“These Ukrainian soldiers approached their training with remarkable professionalism and dedication,” said Armin Krenn, CEO of Rheinmetall Mobile Systeme GmbH. “Given the realities on the ground, their ability to safely and efficiently operate this equipment is absolutely vital to saving lives near the front lines.”
The 20-foot modular containers are compatible with standard logistics and command structures, making the system both flexible and mobile. Built to function under extreme conditions, these hospitals bring critical care much closer to the battlefield.
Rheinmetall confirmed that additional units and training programs are planned and will be delivered through 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to support Ukraine’s defense and humanitarian needs.
