Slovakia will not pose any obstacles to the approval of 50 billion euros by the European Union for Ukraine.

Said Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, during a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

"I understand that some of our statements may cause controversy. But we are asked to approve 50 billion euros for Ukraine for the next four years. Slovakia agrees, and will agree. We will not create any obstacles," said Fico.

He also reminded that Slovakia did not oppose the invitation for Ukraine to join the European Union, despite the country's, in his opinion, "very low" preparedness.

"Okay, we also said 'yes' to this, and we assume that now there will be negotiations about accession, which may take more time but must be fulfilled. I apologize, but I will publicly present my position as I see it," added Fico."
