As of the morning of January 14, the Russian Federation maintains 11 ships in the Black Sea. This number may be explained by the likely commencement of military exercises.

This information was reported by the spokesperson for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, during a television marathon.

Pletenchuk noted that among the 11 ships in the Black Sea, there is 1 carrier of Kalibr missiles with a total salvo of 8 missiles.

"The training year for the Russians has begun. Among these 11 ships, 2 units are on combat duty, and the rest are likely participating in this training process," added Pletenchuk.

In the Sea of Azov, according to the spokesperson for the Naval Forces, there is 1 ship on combat duty.

"In the Azov Sea, as always, there is 1 ship on combat duty. And, of course, the protection of the so-called Kerch Strait Bridge. This is taken care of by a separate maritime security force," noted the spokesperson for the Naval Forces.
