A Russian attack on Kyiv on September 28 has killed at least four people, including a 12-year-old girl, and injured ten others, authorities report. The strikes hit multiple areas across the capital, causing fires and damage to residential and public buildings.

Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, first confirmed the casualties on Telegram:

“Across Kyiv, ten injured and at least two dead have been confirmed. The data is probably not final.”

Later, he updated the death toll:

“Preliminarily, it is already known about three dead as a result of the attack, including the 12-year-old girl.” By mid-day, four fatalities were confirmed.

In the Solomianskyi district, falling debris from the strikes triggered a fire at a gas station, which firefighters managed to extinguish. Another fire broke out inside a state medical facility, where rescuers found the bodies of two people and pulled five others to safety.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko described the scene as chaotic, with emergency services working to secure the affected areas and check for anyone trapped under debris. Local residents reported waking up to loud explosions and smoke filling the streets.

Authorities have warned that the casualty figures could rise as search-and-rescue operations continue, and residents are urged to stay alert for further air raid alerts.
