Russian oforces are deploying sabotage groups into the Sumy region, mainly within the Khotin and Yunakivka communities. However, the number of their assault groups has somewhat decreased as of today.
This was stated on television by the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko.
“The border with Russia in the Sumy region stretches for about 550 kilometers, and it is only along a small section that the enemy continues to use its tactic of sending in small assault groups — specifically in the Khotin and Yunakivka communities. However, recently the enemy’s activity has decreased, which is the result of the daily painstaking work and courage of Ukrainian defenders who are eliminating the enemy by the dozens — both killed and wounded,” Demchenko noted.
He added that the Russian troops are now using fewer quad bikes and motor vehicles, and no armored vehicles have been observed along the border.
Demchenko also emphasized that, aside from activity in these areas of the Sumy region, attention should also be paid to the Kharkiv region, where the Russians continues its assault operations.
“We should not forget about the Kharkiv region — specifically the directions of the settlements of Lyptsi and Vovchansk, where the enemy also continues its assault actions, trying to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory. However, the enemy is unable to achieve its goals. This also applies to the direction of the settlement of Stroivka,” the spokesperson said.
He added that the Russian forces are failing to meet its objectives thanks to the efforts of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
