Ukraine’s tech community showcases resilience, innovation, and cooperation at one of the country’s leading software and startup events.
The most recent edition of Svoe.IT, a national software and tech conference organized by GigaCloud, brought together more than 2,500 participants in Kyiv. The event highlighted the strength and adaptability of Ukraine’s startups, IT companies, and educators — showcasing how local innovation continues to grow and scale, even amid the challenges of war.
A key feature of the program was the Tech Ecosystem Stage, co-organized by Diia.City Union and the EIT Community Hub Ukraine. Through panel discussions, startup pitches, and expert talks, participants explored how Ukraine’s tech ecosystem is evolving — both domestically and on the global stage.
UniCup 2025: Supporting the Next Generation
The event opened with UniCup 2025, a national student startup competition. Twenty university teams presented ideas across IT, energy, healthcare, and education. The winning team, WITERoK, stood out with their renewable energy innovation — earning praise from a jury of experienced tech professionals. The competition underscored the importance of investing in early-stage talent to drive the future of Ukraine’s innovation economy.
Aligning Education with Industry Needs
STEM education was another central topic of discussion. Panels featured deputy ministers from Ukraine’s Ministries of Education and Digital Transformation, as well as representatives from leading universities and companies such as SoftServe and EPAM. Speakers emphasized the need for closer cooperation between education, government, and business to better align academic programs with real-world workforce demands.
Scaling Business in Challenging Times
A dedicated business panel focused on how Ukrainian companies are maintaining brand strength, integrating new technologies, and scaling their operations despite the ongoing war. Leaders from Kernel, IT SmartFlex, and RozetkaPay shared their experiences, challenges, and commitment to growing their companies in Ukraine.
Preparing for the Future of Work
With artificial intelligence reshaping industries, another panel featured HR and tech leaders discussing how companies are preparing for tomorrow’s job market. Representatives from Jooble, PeopleForce, Netpeak Core, BazaIT, and DAN.IT shared insights on the skills employers are prioritizing and how they’re equipping teams to stay competitive.
The Tech Ecosystem Stage at Svoe.IT reinforced a clear message: Ukraine’s tech sector is moving forward. Despite the war, the country continues to prioritize innovation, talent development, and international collaboration. Events like Svoe.IT create valuable connections between startups, educators, business leaders, and global partners. Supporting Ukrainian innovation today is an investment in long-term resilience, growth, and global impact.
