Revolut, the international fintech company with Ukrainian roots, has added Ukrainian language support to its app in a move to assist the Ukrainian community. The company stated that this update follows its earlier decision to offer payment services to Ukrainian refugees displaced by Russia's full-scale invasion two years ago.
Many Ukrainians have been forced to flee their country, and now the app's interface is fully available in Ukrainian. Revolut sees this as an essential step in improving the user experience for its clients across Europe.
The company also shared that it has transferred over €1 billion to Ukraine since 2022, with the most active remittances coming from Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Poland, and the Netherlands. More than 700,000 Ukrainians across Europe, with the largest numbers in Poland (27%), Germany (17%), and the UK (6%), now use Revolut.
"Our commitment to Ukraine remains steadfast. First, we helped refugees by ensuring seamless access to payment services abroad. Now, with the Ukrainian language on the app, we are taking the next step in supporting the Ukrainian community. Our goal is to provide comfort to our users while delivering high-quality financial services," said Vlad Yatsenko, Revolut’s co-founder and CTO.
Although Revolut is not yet available in Ukraine, the company encourages Ukrainians to download the app and join the waiting list to receive notifications when access becomes available.
Revolut, founded in 2015 by Mykola Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko, offers financial services through its app, operating without physical branches. In August of this year, the company secured a trading license from the UK's financial regulator, allowing it to offer trading in stocks listed on UK and EU exchanges. In the same month, Revolut reached a valuation of $45 billion, making it one of the most valuable fintech companies in Europe.
