On March 6, the documentary film 'Porcelain War' was released in Ukrainian theaters, as reported by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications on Telegram.
The ministry reminded that the film has already won 48 international awards and was nominated for an Oscar this year.
The film tells the story of three Ukrainian artists who continue their artistic work during shelling.
The main characters, Slava Leontiev, his wife Anya, and Andriy Stefanov, were in Kharkiv at the start of the full-scale invasion. Amid the ruins, they find beauty and create their own porcelain works, which they use to decorate homes destroyed by Russian forces.
"From the very beginning, we were focused on beauty, first and foremost the people who defend this beauty. Because a genocidal war aims to destroy identity, Ukrainian culture. And the cultural dimension of resistance, of course, is impossible without armed resistance, but it is also important in the historical perspective," said the film’s director, Slava Leontiev.
"Porcelain War is a must-see for every Ukrainian, as it’s a film about how, amidst war, one can find a thirst for life and continue pursuing their passion," noted the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications.
