The High Anti-Corruption Court has confiscated the assets of Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov and his business partners, totaling over 2 billion hryvnias.
This was announced on Facebook by Deputy Minister of Justice Inna Bohatykh.
“The Ministry of Justice has won a victory in the High Anti-Corruption Court: Usmanov’s assets worth over 2 billion hryvnias have been seized for the benefit of the state! On September 25, the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) granted the Ministry of Justice’s lawsuit against Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov and his business partners, the Skotch and Streshynskyi families, ruling to seize their assets for the benefit of the state,” Bohatykh reported.
She noted that Usmanov is one of the most influential businessmen in Russia, the founder of the USM Group. Together with partners Andrii Skotch, Volodymyr Skotch, Varvara Skotch, and Volodymyr Stershynskyi, Usmanov has significant influence over key sectors of the Russian economy: metallurgy, mining, telecommunications, and digital technologies.
According to the HACC’s ruling, iron ore products totaling over 165,000 tons (with an estimated value of over 2 billion hryvnias) and 100% of the charter capital of Peter-Service Ukraine LLC—an IT company previously under Usmanov's control—have been seized for the benefit of the state.
“The seizure of Usmanov’s assets and those of other Kremlin supporters is a small but another systematic step toward restoring justice and obtaining compensation for the damage caused by those who, together with the political leadership of the Russian Federation, are responsible for the aggression against Ukraine. The appeal period is ongoing. We will do our utmost to uphold the first-instance ruling,” emphasized the Deputy Minister of Justice.
