The "Faktor-Druk" printing house in Kharkiv, which printed over 40% of Ukraine's school textbooks, has been restored after being destroyed by a Russian missile strike on May 23, 2024.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyridenko, shared this information on Facebook.
The printing house was involved in about a third of Ukraine's publishing projects and produced a significant portion of the country's school textbooks.
"One year ago, a Russian missile attack destroyed the printing house in Kharkiv. I remember how Serhiy Polityuchyi brought in charred children's books—the same ones my daughter reads—and it just broke my heart. I still keep them as a reminder of Russia's strikes on our culture," the Deputy Prime Minister wrote.
She also mentioned that Howard Buffett was the first to respond, saying:
"We will rebuild."
Today, photos of the restored workshop have been shared.
Also, it was noted that the number of orders for the Vivat publishing house increased fourfold after the Russian strike on the printing house.
The missile attack on May 23 killed 7 people and injured 22.
