Russian forces are attempting to bypass Toretsk's defenses, using underground routes to infiltrate the rear of Ukrainian forces.

This was reported by Major Viktor Tregubov of the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Grouping of Troops during a national telethon.

According to the major, information emerged yesterday about Russian forces attempts to use underground passages to access the rear of Ukrainian troops on certain streets in Toretsk. This is a new tactic the Russian troops are employing on this front.

Tregubov clarified that the Russians are not only attacking from the flanks, trying to bypass defenses, but also operating from below, using underground routes to enter the city.

"This is also a priority direction, and the Russians are trying to use all possible ways to bypass Ukrainian forces," he noted.

At this stage, the battles in Toretsk have taken on an urban warfare character, with the enemy attempting to enter the city from multiple directions.

"In Pokrovsk, we see a situation where Russia is trying to break through around the city, but in Toretsk, it is purely urban combat," the major explained.
