The Security Service of Ukraine exposed a group of criminals who helped citizens of the Russian Federation to legalize in our country. The dealers produced passports of citizens of Ukraine for foreigners. Among their clients were Russians who, according to the SBU, conducted reconnaissance and subversive activities for the benefit of the occupiers.

According to the investigation, the scheme was organized by a former tax official from Donetsk who moved to Kharkiv after the temporary occupation of the regional center.

The perpetrator used personal connections in the law enforcement field to produce fake documents. He estimated the value of the fake passport at USD 4,000.

As part of investigative and operational measures, SBU employees documented the transfer of USD 3,000 as an advance payment.

Moreover, the "customer" of the passport, according to the Security Service, carried out intelligence and subversive activities for the benefit of the Russian Federation and tried to legalize itself on the territory of Ukraine for the conspiracy.

The SBU caught the manufacturer of fake documents red-handed while collecting the "second tranche" for a ready-made passport.

Currently, a notice of suspicion is being prepared for him under Part 3 of Art. 369-2 (accepting an offer or receiving an illegal benefit for oneself or a third party for influencing the decision-making by a person authorized to perform state functions) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

A citizen of the Russian Federation, who "ordered" a Ukrainian passport, is in the field of view of the SBU, and appropriate procedural actions are being taken against him.

Measures are being taken to identify all those involved in the scheme and persons who received a passport of Ukraine through this dealer.

The detection of the offense was carried out by employees of the Main Department of Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Shevchenkiv District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Kharkiv.
