In Poland, the world premiere of the feature film Bucha will take place on October 17 at the Kinoteka cinema as part of the Warsaw Film Festival, according to the festival organizers.
There will be three screenings of the film during the festival: on October 17, 18, and 19.
Directed by Stanislav Tiunov, Bucha will participate in the "International Competition" section of the Warsaw Film Festival. The cast includes actors Cezary Łukaszewicz, Vyacheslav Dovzhenko, Nikon Fedotov, Oleksandr Pecherytsia, Anastasia Nesterenko, Artemiy Yegorov, and Serhiy Strelnikov.
The film Bucha tells the story of Konstantin, a Jewish man with Kazakh citizenship who sought political asylum in Ukraine. At the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, using his Kazakh passport, he travels to the occupied territories to help evacuate civilians. He manages to save 203 people, but in the process, he witnesses the horrors of war and Russian occupation firsthand. He is not alone in this mission; he is aided by Crimean Tatar Gaide Rizayeva, who works for the Main Intelligence Directorate.
Several Ukrainian films will be showcased during the Warsaw Film Festival, running from October 11 to 20, including Bucha, Daughter by Yegor Olesov, and documentaries such as Family Album by Maryna Tkachuk, Cranes Are Calling by Laura Wolner, Armed with a Song by Ryan William Smith, Real by Oleg Sentsov, War Correspondent by Benjamin Tuček, and A Sentimental Journey to the Planet of Parajanov by Taras Tomenko.
