For 7 months of 2021, compared to the same period last year, trade between Ukraine and Uzbekistan increased by 59.5% to $ 335.3 million. In particular, exports of Ukrainian goods amounted to $ 216.7 million (+ 48.8%).
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine following a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine - the then representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ukraine Alisher Kurmanov.
During the meeting, the emphasis was on cooperation in the agricultural sector to increase the supply of Ukrainian dairy, meat and oil products, confectionery, etc. In addition, Ukraine aims to strengthen collaboration in agricultural machinery - supply to the market of Uzbekistan agricultural machinery of various modifications, equipment for feed mills, milking parlors and cattle, poultry equipment.
The Uzbek side stressed that the resumption of air services between Ukraine and Uzbekistan is significant, as the implementation of projects in the aviation industry is promising for both countries.
Uzbekistan is also interested in increasing supplies to the Ukrainian cotton, fiber, yarn, and textile products for processing in Ukraine and further export.
