At the Kyiv Aviation Institute (formerly NAU), it was announced that 20 students have joined a three-month internship at the Turkish aerospace company BAYKAR. According to the university, this internship is a unique opportunity for future engineers and aviators to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge aviation and unmanned systems technologies alongside the best engineers and specialists at BAYKAR in a real-world modern production environment.

The plans for the Kyiv Aviation Institute students' internship were first announced last summer by the Vice-Rector for Research of the National Aviation University, Serhiy Hnatyuk.

Kyiv Aviation Institute Acting Rector Ksenia Semenova reported that the selection of students for the internship was open and involved writing a thesis, an English test, and an interview.

As a result of the selection process, 20 students from the departments of Aircraft Construction, Flight Operation, Computer Engineering, and Aviation Economics were chosen to participate in the unpaid internship in Turkey.

"Once the engineers return, they'll be in high demand," remarked the university's leadership.

During their internship at BAYKAR, the students will study:

  • Composite manufacturing
  • Mechanical processing
  • Assembly of mechanical systems
  • Fuselage assembly
  • Electrical systems assembly, and more.

The students will also have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with advanced technologies in the aviation industry.

"This is an important stage for their professional development and deepening of knowledge in technical disciplines. At Kyiv Aviation Institute, we strive to ensure that every diligent student can find a job and start their career path at top companies," said the university.
