Israel has already provided Ukraine with everything necessary to implement an early warning system, and its launch is currently in the final stages.
This update comes from Ukraine’s Ambassador to Israel, Yevgen Korniychuk, speaking at the Kyiv Jewish Forum.
Korniychuk stated that parts of the Israeli system are already being used by Ukrainian forces, including three-dimensional Israeli-made radars, which can be acquired in significant quantities.
Additionally, the ambassador mentioned that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed cooperation to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on countering Iranian drones.
“We see that our two wars are closely connected. We have common partners... and common adversaries—Iran and its proxies, supported by the Russian Federation. Large stockpiles of fresh Russian weapons, produced last year, have been deployed in Lebanon. I wouldn’t be surprised if North Korean missiles are found there tomorrow, as these are parts of today’s axis of evil,” he explained.
Early Warning System In June 2022, Korniychuk expressed Kyiv’s interest in purchasing Israel’s “Iron Dome” or similar systems to protect civilians from missile attacks. However, then-Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov noted that the Iron Dome was not effective against Russian ballistic and cruise missiles used in attacks on Ukraine.
By January 2023, Korniychuk discussed collaboration with Israel on advanced alert technology for missile and drone threats. At that time, the transfer process was already underway, with the system expected to be launched in Ukraine eventually.
