The United States has approved several security assistance packages for Ukraine under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme, with a total value exceeding $200 million.
These approvals are part of the implementation of agreements reached between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump.
“This is an extremely important contribution to saving lives and ensuring lasting peace in Europe. We thank the U.S. President, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, and the American people for their consistent support of Ukraine,” said Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.
The Minister emphasized that funding for these assistance packages will be fully provided by Ukraine’s partner countries.
The first package, worth $104 million, includes equipment, repair, and long-term technical support for M777 howitzers.
The second package, valued at $99.5 million, covers transportation and cargo consolidation services, as well as other logistical support related to security assistance programmes.
The goal of these sales is to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities, ensure its ability to respond to current and future threats, and enhance regional security.
