Russian troops are trying to advance in the Toretsk direction. In Chasiv Yar, the Russian forces are using the pipes of the Seversky Donets-Donbas canal to hide from the weather.
This was reported by Dmitry Zaporizhets, spokesman for the Joint Forces Task Force Luhansk, during a live broadcast of the telethon.
"Russian troops continue their offensive actions along the entire line of combat engagement. The most difficult situation is in the area of Chasiv Yar and Toretsk. Over the past 24 hours, 608 shellings were recorded in the Toretsk area and 430 in the Chasiv Yar area," Zaporizhets said.
According to him, the Russia's tactics in the Toretsk direction remain unchanged: artillery shelling, assault actions, and mining.
"The enemy is now assaulting in small groups, under the cover of mortars and FPV drones. We are observing that the enemy is moving with TM-62 antipersonnel mines and using them to mine buildings and logistical routes," the spokesman added.
In Chasiv Yar, as Zaporizhets noted, the Russian army is using the pipes of the "Seversky Donets-Donbas" canal to shelter from bad weather, and then move further when the opportunity arises.
"Currently, fog is frequently observed in Donetsk region, and the enemy is actively using this to accumulate in these pipes and then move deeper into the city. Our drone operators are detecting such movements and are trying to use all available means to destroy the enemy," the spokesman reported.
