Investigators of the SBU Department in the Kharkiv region are documenting atrocities and other war crimes committed by the Russian occupation forces against the civilian population.
In Kupyansk, the invaders kept 400 people in cells designed for 140. The press center of the SBU reported this.
It is noted that the illegal prison of the invaders was equipped in the regional police department of Kupyansk, where the "leading center" of the occupation administration was located.
"It was established that in these premises, the occupiers held and mocked the local residents, who refused to cooperate with them. Few people among the Kupyansk people wanted to help the enemy, so the" prison "was tripled: in cells designed for 140 people, the occupiers simultaneously held more than 400 . Illegally imprisoned citizens were forced to sleep standing up," the report says.
The press center of the SBU emphasized that according to international conventions, such treatment is recognized as torture and is cruel, inhuman treatment and punishment.
