The Onur group of companies plans to have 690 MW of renewable energy facilities in Ukraine by 2030 — including 440 MW of wind power plants and 250 MW of solar power plants.
This was announced by Gürsan Karakaya, Vice President of Energy at the group.
“Our vision includes about 700 MW of renewable energy to be built in Ukraine by 2030. Of this, 440 MW will be wind farms and 250 MW will be solar power plants. Our work focuses on four categories — solar power plants (SPPs), wind power plants (WPPs), energy storage systems, as well as substations and power transmission lines,” Karakaya said during the We Build Ukraine analytical center conference, “Green Energy for Reconstruction,” held on May 22 in Kyiv.

According to him, currently, a 120 MW wind power plant is under construction in Zakarpattia, with an approximate investment volume of EUR 120 million, along with a 50 MW solar power plant.
Additionally, the group has begun development of a 320 MW wind power plant, with planned investments of about EUR 320 million, and a 50 MW solar power plant near the Hungarian border, paired with an energy storage system, with investments expected around EUR 51 million.
Karakaya reminded that Onur, which began developing renewable energy in Ukraine in 2019 with the construction of solar power plants, already had 12 such plants in Zhytomyr, Chernivtsi, and Khmelnytskyi by 2021, with a total capacity of 150 MW. Total investments in these solar plants amounted to EUR 120 million.
