Six trucks delivered ammunition to Ukraine, funded by donations from 70,000 Slovak citizens, according to Slovak media resource Noviny.

It was transported by six trucks, and its distribution and use are now under the control of the Ukrainian army. The "Ammunition for Ukraine" collection has reached an important milestone, having raised more than 4 million euros in just three weeks, making it the most successful fundraiser in Slovakia's history.

"What we can say is that it's 135 pallets, 122 tons of ammunition, and that it was transported by six trucks," said Fedor Blaščák, the initiator of the "Ammunition for Ukraine" collection.

The ammunition, funded by 70,000 Slovaks, was sent to a large logistics warehouse, from where it was picked up by Ukraine.

"Today, October 7, is a significant day, one we have been waiting for since we launched the ammunition collection," said Marián Kulich, a partner in the "Peace for Ukraine" initiative.

The collection was started after the Slovak government announced it would not join the Czech initiative to gather ammunition for Ukraine.

"This was a clear message from the Slovak people. Seventy thousand Slovaks contributed to this collection and continue to make regular donations for ammunition, so Ukraine can defend itself against the aggressor," added Kulich.

The entire process—from the announcement that ammunition would be purchased with the donated funds to the report that it had reached its intended recipient—took four to five months.

"Some may think that's a long time, 4-5 months, but for military equipment and ammunition deliveries, it's a record-breaking speed," Blaščák explained.

Every piece of ammunition had to be inspected, and the process involved complex administrative work.

"I'm glad the effort was completed and that it had a great purpose," said Otto Šimko, a Slovak National Uprising participant, journalist, and supporter of the "Ammunition for Ukraine" collection.

Global media outlets took notice of the collection early on.

"We gave more, in terms of per capita donations, than Canada, Iceland, or Slovenia," added Blaščák.

After raising four million euros in three weeks, Ukrainian defenders expressed their gratitude to the Slovaks. Of the 4.5 million euros raised in the "Ammunition for Ukraine" collection, 4 million euros have already been used. The remaining 500,000 euros will be spent soon.

"A new contract has already been signed for smaller grenades, which should be delivered by the end of the year," Blaščák concluded.
